How to Restore Your pH Balance and Help Your Body Heal Itself!

If a headache, fatigue and joint pain bothers you, it’s time to take care of the pH balance in your body. Maintaining the optimum pH levels in the body can be achieved with just a few simple steps.

For normal bodily functions, the pH level in the blood should be between 7.35 and 7.45. If the pH levels in the blood falls below 7:35, a condition called acidosis comes into action. The common symptoms of acidosis are tense muscles, headaches, fatigue, acne and joint pain. Acidosis can also aggravate the condition of osteoporosis and brittle bones. The pH level can be increased by consuming alkalizing foods and drinks.

The steps for increasing the pH balance:

1. Oxygenated water with addition of green powder supplement

The american nutrition expert David Wolfe in his book “Eating for Beauty” (click here for details) advise us to add one teaspoon of green powder in squeezed vegetable juice to achieve an alkalizing and nutrient-rich beverage.

2. Lemon water

Lemon juice is very healthy and alkalizing beverage. But don’t get confused by its acidity. Before digested lemon juice is acidic, but after it if fully metabolized it has an alkalizing effect to the body.

3. Spinach, Broccoli, Artichoke, Brussels Sprouts

4. Herbal Teas

Together with lemon water, herbal teas are an excellent choice to increase the pH in the body. Beer, coffee and soft drinks should be avoided as much as possible.

The balance of alkaline and acid

Many people consider acidic foods mainly as unhealthy. David Wolfe denies this claim, pointing out that the body needs balance between food intake that alkalizes and one that acidifies. Still you need to eat alkaline foods in large quantities. If you suffer from acidosis, the ratio of alkaline to acid foods should be 80 to 20, while when maintaining the normal pH of the body the ratio should be 60 to 40.

To maintain optimum pH balance it is extremely important to balance alkaline and acid. The condition contrary to acidosis is alkalosis. The common symptoms are disorientation, laziness and constantly feeling cold. But acidosis is more common than alkalosis due to the large number of acidic foods, which are a part of the regular diet throughout USA and Western countries.

Testing of pH

For pH balance measurement it is necessary to use litmus test paper. This test paper can be bought in pharmacies or stores that hold chemical products. One portion of the strip is dipped in saliva or in the urine to be able read out the results.

    This is absolute nonsense. You body tightly controls tissue and fluid pH with acid-base homeostasis mechanisms. You cannot change any pH in your body with food other than your urine.
