DIY Cosmetics with Coconut Oil: Hair Conditioner
You will need:
- 1 egg yolk
1 tablespoon raw honey (where to buy)
4 teaspoons of coconut oil (where to buy)
Beat a little bit the egg yolk in a bowl, then add the other ingredients; mix well until the mixture is smooth. Spread on your hair and leave on for 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water and then shampoo. If you experience a residual odor, rinse your hair with white vinegar mixed with water.
You can preserve it in a glass container in the refrigerator for 2 days.
DIY Cosmetics with Coconut Oil: Hand Scrub
Generally we talk about facial and body scrubs, but there is also a do-it-yourself recipe to make a specific scrub to soften your hands.
- 1 tablespoon of coconut oil
30 g of raw honey (where to buy)
30 grams of salt
30 grams of sugar
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Stir together coconut oil and honey in a bowl and in another bowl, add the salt, sugar and lemon and mix well. Pour the olive oil and honey in the compound of salt and sugar, and mix well until you get a homogeneous mixture. To use the scrub, spread it on your hands by rubbing gently, then remove it with water.
Store in an airtight glass container.
DIY Cosmetics with Coconut Oil: Natural Eyeliner
Here is a recipe for a quick and easy makeup product: a natural coconut oil eyeliner, without chemical ingredients.
- 2 tablespoons of coconut oil (where to buy)
4 tablespoon of aloe vera gel
1-2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder for brown eyeliner
or 2 capsules of activated carbon for the black eyeliner
Melt the coconut oil in a saucepan, and mix it together with aloe vera. Add the cocoa powder orthe capsules, depending on whether you want the black or brown eyeliner. Mix well. Once ready applied with a thin brush.
Store in an airtight jar.
DIY Cosmetics with Coconut Oil: Coconut Oil Toothpaste
The ingredients for making the toothpaste coconut oil are:
- 60 ml of coconut oil (where to buy)
60 ml of bentonite clay (also called white clay) (where to buy)
40 ml of mineral water
2.5 ml of salt
10-15 drops of peppermint essential oil (where to buy)
Stir together coconut oil, clay and salt in a small bowl, then start adding slowly the water mixing the mixture with a spoon, continue with adding more water until you have reached the consistency of a cream. Now add the essential oil of mint.
Use it as regular toothpaste.
DIY Cosmetics with Coconut Oil: Hand Cream
You will need these ingredients:
70 ml of coconut oil (where to buy)
20 ml of jojoba oil (or almond oil) (where buy: jojoba oil; almond oil)
20 grams of grated beeswax (where to buy)
5 drops of Lemon essential oil (where to buy)
5 drops of Lavander essential oil (where to buy)
Melt the coconut oil, the jojoba or sweet almond and beeswax in a water bath, stirring well because they will blend. Add essential oils, then let the mixture cool and transfer it in the refrigerator so that will solidify.
Preserved in a dark and dry place for a few months.
